Changing a plot of dirt into a house is dramatic, but real change is what occurs when a family is able to transition out of poverty housing. At Habitat for Humanity, our vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Affordable homeownership creates new opportunities for families and children by fostering a sense of security, space to grow, and good neighbors.

Habitat for Humanity of  Montezuma County builds safe, affordable houses for qualified homebuyers regardless of race, religion or background. Each Habitat home is built in partnership with homeowner families, sponsors, and volunteers. Our houses are safe, decent, affordable homes that are sold for no profit to the partner family who repays an affordable mortgage. Prospective homeowners attend workshops and partner with our Family Services Committee so that they are well prepared to become homeowners.
